Like the recent post on the protea statement bloom, the anemone flower is also all the rage this wedding season.
These stunning soft blooms are typically in season between October and May. Ranging in bright red, purple, pink, blue and magenta, the most popular of these beauties is white. These particular blooms are most often used with a striking black/blue center, but also can have green, purple and yellow centers as well. Adding a few extra flowers and textures along side the anemone is often a way to create these stunning bouquets. The Floral Design Institute provided this tutorial on building your own bouquet with anemones which shows how to work with these delicate flowers.
The images from Matt and Amanda’s wedding day (see full gallery here) beautifully display these soft blooms as they are pared with other greenery as well. To see more bouquets with these whimsical flowers see this slideshow from Brides.com.
